Annual Sustainability Report

We are pleased to announce the release of the PalletBiz Annual Sustainability Report 2024. First Steps towards CSRD & ESRS – Building a Future-Proof Sustainability Framework

While the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) does not yet apply to PalletBiz, we have begun aligning our sustainability disclosures with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) on a voluntary basis. By integrating key elements such as double materiality, value chain transparency, and governance disclosures, we are strengthening the foundation for future non-financial reporting obligations. This proactive approach ensures we remain ready to meet upcoming EU compliance requirements and continue to offer transparency and trust to our partners across the packaging and logistics value chain.

Getting Ready for EUDR: Traceable, Responsible Wood Sourcing

As part of our long-term commitment to responsible sourcing, PalletBiz has initiated internal readiness efforts for the upcoming EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), expected to take effect for SMEs in 2026. Although not yet mandatory for our operations, we are proactively investigating traceability systems, risk assessment protocols, and supplier data collection processes to ensure compliance with the regulation’s due diligence and geolocation requirements. These steps will strengthen our sustainable wood sourcing practices and future-proof our offering across the European and global markets.

Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s)

Sustainability as defined in the 17 UN SDGs is attributed with a core importance in the PalletBiz discussions and communications regarding sustainable development. We have, therefore, selected those SDGs where we can actively contribute as a cooperation and a network; but by being active on those, we will passively contribute toward the “unselected” SDGs as well.

IFUA Award

The Global Sustainability Department of PalletBiz submitted a study on applied corporate sustainability within the context of the organization – operating in the industrial packaging sector – as an application to the IFUA Green Controlling Award – and we are delighted to announce that PalletBiz was awarded the prize for our outstanding strategic solution! The study delineates the overall perspective of PalletBiz on (corporate) sustainability, while highlighting the importance of a strategic approach towards the concept; as having a well thought-out, planned, and structured agenda has been proven to be the only method that has the potential to pave the way towards real sustainable development of an organization.
